22nd May, 2025

It was a great honour for us to welcome Minister Helen McEntee, Senator Linda Nelson Murray and Councillor Yemi Adenuga to St. Joseph’s Mercy Primary School on Monday, 19th May. Minister McEntee was greeted by two of our sixth class pupils and to pupils from fifth and sixth classes who held the Irish flag, as well as the flags of their countries of origin. Children from third to sixth classes then sang and read for our visitors. The children told Minister McEntee how delighted we all are with our new classrooms. They also spoke of the importance of the DEIS Programme to our school, the emphases we place on reading and the importance of excellent attendance. Our visitors then had a tour of our new extension, meeting with teachers, staff and children en route. It was a wonderful day for everyone on our school community, and we thank Minister Helen McEntee, Senator Linda Nelson Murray and Councillor Yemi Adenuga for visiting us. Minister McEntee has been invited back in the very near future to officially open our school upon completion of our Building Project.
