October 24th 2018,
Dear Parents,
I cannot believe that the date of my retirement has arrived and that after almost forty years of working in St. Joseph’s Mercy P. S. I am about to finish my teaching career.
I am so proud and privileged to have worked in this very special school and to have been its Principal for the last eleven years. I want to thank you all for your loyalty and support to our school as we worked together to offer the best educational opportunities for your children. You were warm and welcoming to new families and new staff and always treated everyone in our school community with respect and kindness.
Your children reflect your best qualities and they were a joy to work with. My time in St. Joseph’s has greatly enriched my life and I have never wanted to teach in any other school. I will be sad to leave this all behind me but St. Joseph’s will always hold a special place in my heart and in my memories.
The next Principal of St Joseph’s has been announced as Ann Murphy and I wish her every success as she takes over from me on November 5th. I am certain that she will continue to promote the positive ethos of St. Joseph’s for the benefit of its pupils, parents and school staff.
Wishing you every health and happiness in the future,
Mary Walsh
