On Wednesday, 4th March, 3rd classes, 4th classes and 6th classes gathered in the hall to meet Suzanne from Navan Library who was coming to speak to us for World Book Day. Each child brought their favourite book to the hall. Suzanne arrived at 10am and talked to everyone about the joy of reading. We got a big surprise when Suzanne announced that she had some very good news to tell us! One of our 6th class students had won the ‘Design a Bookmark’ competition! There was great excitement as Suzanne told us that the winner had won a €50 gift voucher and our school had won an amazing €500 worth of library books. 6,000 copies of the bookmark have been printed for all of the libraries in Co. Meath and everyone in the school also got a copy of the bookmark. It was a great day for our school and for our talented artist in 6th class. We thank Navan Library staff for their great support of us in St. Joseph’s Mercy Primary School.
